Meet Our Team:

Tim Harrington | Managing Director 
  • Time with Northwestern Mutual: Joined in 2021 as a Growth and Development Director before becoming Managing Director just nine months later. 
  • Previous Experience: Business owner, speaker, coach, and consultant. 
  • Outside the Office: Tim and his wife, Lindsay, are raising six children in Eldridge. He enjoys coaching youth sports, supporting his kids' activities, spending time with family, and traveling.
Scott Fischer | Financial Advisor & Growth and Development Director 
  • Time with Northwestern Mutual: Joined the company as an intern in 2007 and now serves as both a Financial Advisor and Growth and Development Director. 
  • Previous Experience: Finance graduate from Jacksonville University who launched his career through Northwestern Mutual's internship program. 
  • Outside the Office: Scott and his wife, Krista, have four sons and recently returned to Sterling, Illinois, to be closer to family. He enjoys coaching youth sports, golfing, volunteering, attending church, and spending time with family.
Alanna Rumler-Akre | Financial Advisor 
  • Time with Northwestern Mutual: 11 years. 
  • Previous Experience: Began as an intern and has since earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designations. 
  • Outside the Office: Alanna enjoys golfing, boating, and spending time with her husband, Lane, and their three boys. She previously served on the board of Lead(h)er.
Brooke Keck | Talent Acquisition 
  • Time with Northwestern Mutual: Joined in 2022. 
  • Previous Experience: Real estate sales and mortgage lending. 
  • Outside the Office: Brooke enjoys spending time with her husband, Matt, and their son, home renovation projects, fitness, and long walks through Costco. She also serves as Board President of Dress for Success Quad Cities and volunteers with Lead(h)er.
About the Role
As a Financial Advisor, you'll help individuals, families, and business owners make informed financial decisions through personalized planning and insurance strategies. You'll build long-term relationships, understand each client's unique goals, and create customized solutions designed to help them achieve financial confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build trusted relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Understand clients' financial goals, priorities, and concerns.
  • Develop personalized financial plans that may include investments, insurance, retirement, and wealth accumulation strategies.
  • Recommend insurance solutions to help protect income, assets, and loved ones.
  • Provide ongoing guidance by reviewing and updating financial plans as clients' lives evolve.
  • Grow your practice through referrals, networking, and active involvement in the community.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant military or equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience in sales, business development, financial services, insurance, leadership, or another relationship-focused profession is helpful but not required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build trust and develop lasting client relationships.
  • Willingness to obtain required FINRA and state insurance licenses (training provided).
