Irene Barish, Managing Director and Financial Advisor:
  • Time with NM: Since 2019
  • Previous experience: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse, with a strong background in critical decision-making, advocacy, and family care.
  • Passionate about: Spending time with her family, including her husband, a Fort Lauderdale firefighter and veteran, and their two sons, ice hockey and cheering on the Florida Panthers; hosting Sunday dinners with her entire family.
Michael Velez, Growth Development Director:
  • Time with NM: Since 2018
  • Previous experience: Led teams in the call center industry, building a strong foundation in leadership, performance development, and team growth.
  • Passionate about: Helping others professionally and within the community; serving on the board of Florida Atlantic University; educating and empowering the Spanish community on financial options and financial freedom; prioritizing wellness through breathwork, sauna, and cold plunges; enjoying soccer (especially Real Madrid), tennis, and pickleball; married with two children.
Caleb Posey, CFP®, Financial Advisor:

  • Previous experience: Accounting background, including auditing regional healthcare entities and prior experience in tax preparation.

  • Previous experience: Director of Player Development at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, managing relationships with high-value clients and leading the Asian Marketing team to enhance client experience and market growth; ventures in real estate fix-and-flips and the fitness apparel industry.

Craig Jay McLane, CFP®, ChFC®, CLTC®, Wealth Management Advisor and Growth and Development Director:

  • Previous experience: Joined Northwestern Mutual after graduating from the College of William and Mary, where he played collegiate baseball.

About the Role: At Northwestern Mutual, you will be part of a team that helps individuals and businesses achieve their financial goals through personalized insurance solutions and financial planning. Your role involves building long-term relationships with clients, understanding their unique needs, and providing tailored financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their financial goals, aspirations, and concerns.
  • Financial Planning: Develop comprehensive financial plans that include investments, insurance, and retirement.
  • Insurance Solutions: Recommend and implement insurance strategies to protect clients' assets and income.
  • Ongoing Support: Monitor clients' financial plans and provide regular updates, adjusting strategies as needed to meet changing circumstances.
  • Networking: Build and maintain a network of clients through referrals, community involvement, and professional associations.
Qualifications:
  • Education: A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in financial services, insurance, or business development is beneficial but not required.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Licenses: Obtain necessary licenses, such as Series 6, 63, and state insurance licenses (training and sponsorship available).
